Dan has been gone almost 4 months already, luckily, it’s gone by fast so far. He is doing well and keeping busy in this deployment, we don’t get to talk too often, but he does email me pretty much daily. There are times when I won’t hear from him at all for 2-3 days, but I think that’s pretty normal for where he is. Only 3 months left!
I am no longer working at the hospital on base, my contract was up and I decided not to renew it. When Dan gets home, we only have 6 months left in this beautiful country and I didn’t want to have to worry about getting time off to do things, as we will already have to work it out with his schedule. My last day was on June 7th and I’ve been trying to keep busy since, I think I’ve been doing pretty good. I love to read, usually things that you don’t have to think too hard about, but I can get lost in a book and the time flies by, which I don’t mind. I went on a wine tasting tour, went white water rafting in Slovenia and have trip plans for Croatia by boat and the French Riviera coming up in a few weeks. I will definitely be blogging on those things as well. I’ve never been good at writing on here, now that I am getting out and doing a little more since I’m not working, I hope to get a little better about that.
I am already pretty anxious about finding out where we will be going next, but still have some time until we will find that out. Can’t wait though, it’s funny how you start looking forward to moving somewhere new and experiencing all that comes with it..I’m a pretty lucky girl to be able to see as much as I have and am very thankful for that.
I will be posting on my trips, so keep an eye out!
Stay strong, girly! It's so funny that we've never met and yet our lives are so similar. Hopefully Scott AFB will be your next base and we can finally meet!
